Stannol has set itself the goal of continuously improving its own contribution to environmental protection. With our cross-site environmental management system, we are therefore constantly developing our measures throughout our business operations.
Stannol manages its company-wide environmental and climate protection strategy through a common and binding environmental management system. The carbon footprint of our business activities is the central indicator for measuring and evaluating our environmental performance. We determine the CO2 emissions in an annual cycle in the areas of: Vehicle fleet, electricity and gas and oil consumption. This is done in a standardised manner according to internationally recognised methods and conversion factors.
CURRENT CLIMATE BALANCE 2020
The carbon footprint covers all German locations: Velbert, Schrobenhausen, Wülfrath. Scope 1 and 2 shows the emissions from the areas: Vehicle fleet, gas and oil consumption and electricity. Compared to 2019, we were already able to save around 70% of emissions in a first major step through targeted measures.
In 2013 Stannol started to systematically implement various sustainability activities from an environmental perspective.
In the years that followed, we continuously expanded our commitment to the environment. Responsible use of resources and raw materials is now part of our DNA!
ISO 14001 (ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM)
The ISO 14001 is a worldwide accepted and used standard for a corporate environmental management system.
After implementation of this standard Stannol continues to improve the responsible usage of our natural ressources. More efficient consumption of less energy and less raw materials, waste minimisation and selective risk prevention – all this is part of the environmental management system ISO 14001.
