The natural habitat of polar bears is severely threatened by climate change. Rising temperatures are causing the Arctic pack ice to gradually disappear, leaving the animals acutely threatened with extinction.
In order to increase the polar bears' chances of survival, the temperature increase caused by climate change must be reduced as quickly as possible. This requires a consistent and sustainable reduction of CO2 emissions worldwide.
Stannol is committed to continuously improving its own contribution to environmental protection. Therefore, we are constantly developing our measures throughout our business operations. With success: Stannol is currently the first company in the solder industry to produce in a climate-neutral way.
Stannol manages its cross-site environmental and climate protection strategy through a uniform and binding environmental management system. The CO2 footprint of our business activities is the central indicator for measuring and evaluating our own environmental performance: We determine the CO2 emissions in an annual cycle in the areas of vehicle fleet, electricity as well as gas and oil consumption. This is done in a standardised manner according to internationally recognised methods and conversion factors.

considered with regard to their emissions from the vehicle fleet, gas and oil consumption and electricity. Compared to 2019, we were able to save around 60% of these emissions through targeted measures. We offset the remaining emissions through a climate protection contribution. This went to the non-profit organisation atmosfair, which uses the contribution to support three climate protection projects in Nigeria, India and Kenya.
Stannol started to systematically implement various sustainability activities from an environmental perspective as early as 2013 as part of the “Ökoprofit“ certification. In the following years, we have continuously expanded our commitment in the environmental area. Responsible use of resources and raw materials is the order of the day at our company.
