The global push for more electrical mobility and therefore electrical drives require more and bigger high-power electronics. This is one reason, why these high-mass and high power boards will find their way into our manufacturing areas. Many of the nowadays used low solid, no clean fluxes for wave or selective soldering, will come at these new processes to their limits. This can be easily imagined, when your are forced to increase the preheat temperature from 100-130°C up to 200°C, just to ensure a sufficient pre-heating to achieve a proper soldering and filling of through holes. Often the higher pre-heat temperatures need to be combined with longer pre-heat times, just to make life for a flux not easier.
